The state-of-the-art Cobblebank Indoor Stadium is now complete, with basketball games contested on the courts for the first time over the weekend.
The $31 million stadium is Melton City Council’s highest value project to date and began construction in March 2020.
The opening is a key step forward in the development of the 100-hectare Cobblebank Metropolitan Activity Centre, following on from the opening of the multimillion-dollar Cobblebank Village Shopping Centre in May, and the announcement Ferris Road Cobblebank as the site for the new Melton Hospital in July.
Over the next decade, the Cobblebank Metropolitan Activity Centre is expected to become one of the largest activity centres in greater Melbourne.
